Initial Glass Pendant DIY

You know when you see an idea and you want to kick yourself for not thinking of it first? Well, this in one of those times. I love to make jewelry. I give it away, I sell it, I wear it. This is such a fantastic idea for so many gift giving opportunities. I am thinking even crafting with kids this would be fun and quick the only thing I would worry about is the etching cream usage. For the entire tutorial you can see it over at Midwestern Girl DIY [link]

Verse Bookmark (or necklace)

At first look, I thought these were necklaces. I was so excited and thought what a great idea for a bible study group or the GEMS girls club at our church. They are actually bookmarks. But yes, they could be necklaces. This tutorial comes from Inspiring Ideas with Jeanne Winters. [link]

Winter Necklace

Over time, I have experimented with using ribbon in my jewelry making and the idea of loose braids. I haven't been thrilled with the results, but this time, I think I got it right. I used the mixed TOHO beads and threaded them into long strands, using two of them along with ribbon and cotton yarn with pearls. I braided the four strands together. Every so often I joined them together with a bow of ribbon and finally added a snowflake charm. I am happy with the results of this longer necklace strand.

Bead Fantasies Necklace - Free Tutorial from Lark Books

Sabine Lippert’s Beaded Fantasies presents 30 of Sabine’s jewelry designs; all the projects utilize peyote or right angle weave, beading’s most popular stitches. The book includes plenty of beautiful photography, excellent instructions and how-to illustrations, a special chapter by Sabine about how she approaches design, and a gallery of photographs of beadwork Sabine admires. The book will officially publish on May 1. In the meantime, let’s give you a taste of it: Click here to download a PDF of the project Les Fleurs Necklace from Sabine Lippert’s Beaded Fantasies. If you look at the PDF, you’ll see we’ve included the book’s table of contents, which has teaser photos from throughout the book.

Fun with Shrink Art

One evening, I was home with just the girls. I decided we should do a craft project to fill our
time without daddy. I printed out a flower pattern from the computer onto Shrink Art. We first colored in the design on the same side the design was printed on; unfortunately, those results were not terrific. The next try, we printed the same design and then colored on the reverse side.

Using a hole punch before shrinking, created the small hole for hanging upon finishing.
The colors used were permanent markers.
If you would like to try this on your own, you can download the design I used for free at this link.

Ribbon Necklace

I created this ribbon necklace utilizing braiding. I love the look of the ribbon interacting with it's self. I had the idea for the bead groups to hang individually from the ribbon. I like the groupings, I like the idea. I am not sure the end result is exactly what I have in mind. The colors are great and neutral enough to work with a variety of outfits.
