Applied Label Give Away

This Give Away has Ended

I have found what appears to be the very best in personalized labels. Applied Labels are waterproof and dishwasher safe.  Applied Labels sell iron on labels as well. What I have found to be truly different is their application in shoes with a specialty over label to protect the printing from wearing off.

With the start of school, we have had to label everything in our house, and Applied Labels were a savior.

Applied Labels is offering one lucky Craft Connection reader a $25 e-gift card.

Mat Kearney Young Love - album review

Mat Kearney has an enjoyable new CD available; Young Love; his fourth album release. The albums first single, “Hey Mama” was released on May 10, 2011; and the entire album in August 2011.. Young Love has topped the Top Christian Albums, Top Digital Albums, and Top Rock Albums charts.

The album has a raw quality to it. A distinct drum beat, almost Jazz Funeral Band likeness to my untrained ear; which could become monotonous; however, the song line up mixes it up enough for relief. A mostly up beat offering, the chart popularity isn’t wrong!

You can find live performances list on Kearney’s website:

An you can find his album available for sale at Amazon

Sew the Perfect Bag - Book Review

What’s in a bag? Well it could be a purse, handbag, tote, backpack, satchel…you get the idea. Sew the Perfect Bag has step by step directions for twenty-five different bags. My favorite is the Reversible Purse designed by Ellen March. The diagonal line across the middle catches my eye and I think it would work for a variety of uses, not just a handbag, more like a tote.

The great things about this book are the easy to read supply lists, step by step directions with diagrams and the versatility of each pattern. Most of the bags in Sew the Perfect Bag can be made from a yard or less of fabric meaning you could use left over fabric or a few sample piece. In fact, you could recycle fabric from a clothing item for an eco twist. Easy to follow diagrams also allow you to alter the size of the project to tailor it to your own needs.

The introduction of the book states that once you see how easy it is to make a bag that doesn’t require a pattern, you’ll see how easy it is to adapt them to your own style and ultimately create your own patterns. What a great tool to learn how to take an idea, make it your own and expand upon it!

You can purchase a copy directly from the publisher at this link.
