Upcycle Spoon Mirror

There are times crafters repurpose or upcycle an item to the point where you no longer see the individual parts but the beautiful whole new creation first. It is rare, but it does happen. Just like with the Chrysanthemum Mirror, you see the beauty first and then see it is made from plastic spoons. What to give it a try? Here is the tutorial from Addicted 2 Decorating. [link]

Alphabet Inspiration

Education.com has fun alphabet pages to color. While they are created for children and learning, I can't help but wonder how a crafter could use these. How about iron ons? Creating an alphabet book? Maybe quilt them? What could you make? [link]

Everyone can be Crafty

materials
Honestly, anyone can craft. I created a few boxes from templates I downloaded from Mirkwood Designs, they were free, and there are a lot of other templates there you might be interested in.

I decided to create them using ordinary easily found objects. I cut with my daughter’s child scissors. In order to create folds, some lines needed to be creased. I did so by tracing over the lines on the template with a ballpoint pen on top of the decorative (scrapbooking paper) paper to create an indent. If I couldn’t draw a straight line, I used my TV remote to help guide me. Then I used a little glue stick as needed to seal the flaps. Oh, and just a suggestion, If you find it hard to keep the template in place when you are cutting, a few clothespins can be used to keep everything in place.

So with little to no crafting supplies, you can create something crafty! Give it a try.
finished boxes (and a few beads made from the scraps)

Scrapbooking papers, rub-ons and stickers were provided free of charge from Crop Chocolate.

Craft Idea - St. Patrick's Day - "Pot of Gold"

Outside of box

Inside of box - gold, paper, glitter

I knew the moment I received my package in the mail from UHU that I wanted to play off the idea of a pot of gold, given the theme of St. Patti’s Day. I began by painting the box with antique white on the outside and gold on the inside. I then lined the inside with the green ribbon like paper (using the UHU glue stick) that I had punched with clovers so that the gold would show through. For an added sparkle, I took one of the foam clovers provided and applied green glitter.

On the outside, I stamped the bottom half with stamps in a variety of green and gold to give it a visual texture similar to grass. Then, I applied the foam clovers to the top and let them trail off one side.
The Uhu glue, green paper, foam clover pieces and the star box were provided free of charge from Saunders.

Uhu glue can be found at http://www.gluewithuhu.com/
