DIY Fabric Band-aids

Design Dazzle shares a cute idea for making band-aid have a bit more style with the addition of fabric. My daughters would love these. The down side is that we go through them like water. My thought is with all the new Duck Tape designs emerging, using Duck Tape would make this idea so much more simple and quick to create. Either way, enjoy! [link]

Make Bouncing Balls

Make homemade bouncing balls. What a fun craft idea for when kids are home for the holidays. I would have loved this when I was little. Who am I kidding? I still think it is cool! [link]

We tried these and I have a few comments:

Elmer's Washable Clear School Glue did not produce transparent balls
Elmer's Washable Clear School Glue did bounce more than white Elmer's glue
More food coloring was needed in some experiments

Rubber Band Bracelets

I found a great tutorial for making rubber band bracelets. The video how-to from Craftastic is below. My daughters and I made them tonight after dinner. This is a very inexpensive craft, I bought paper clips and rubber bands at the dollar store. Our version included alphabet beads, these added to the total cost since they sell for around $7 at Hobby Lobby. This project is great for kids to get involved in and then they can teach their friends!

Color Science Experiment

I know this isn't a craft, but it is so cool. You have got to try this at home - even if you don't have kids.

Materials:
shallow bowl with milk
drops of food coloring
liquid dish detergent

Place the milk into the bowl, drop in the food coloring rather close together. Place a drop of the dish detergent in for the magic to happen.
